Dry eye is almost always caused by problems arising from the eyelid margins. One common problem is infestation with Demodex mites within the follicles of the eyelashes. These mites (Demodex brevis) are very hardy and are resistant to both alcohol and providone iodine, two potent surgical antiseptics that can kill almost any microbe. Up until now, the only treatment that has been shown to kill Demodex mites is tea tree oil products. The main disadvantage of tea tree oil is the intense ocular burning and redness associated with its use when it enters the eye.
"I am just starting using these but I really like them so far. I get really bad acne on my chin and forehead as well as blackheads in my nose. These wipes are really nice. You really only need to use it 1x a day, but on hot days, I've used one in the morning and one before bed to keep my face clean and bacteria, sweat and makeup free. These are made to help reduce the appearance of acne and blemishes! So far soo good. They have a light and pleasant smell and are non-irritating and they haven't dried out my skin or made me break out more! Plus they come in this handy little box and separated in their own handy foil packs! So easy to use and convenient. Can use or take anywhere."
